The game Dragon Glory borrows not so subtly from World of Warcraft. Velen and Deathwing have been simply adopted!
Over the years, some developers sometimes run out of ideas when creating games. When you don’t want to come up with detailed character designs yourself, you simply draw on existing characters from other manufacturers, tweak them a bit, and then put your own name on them. But if even that is too much work, the characters are simply completely copied!
For example, this is how the game Dragon Glory operates. It has drawn on existing artworks and in-game characters more than just a little. If you pay attention, you can spot Deathwing – with his typical armor and similarly distinctive jaw.
Could this still be coincidence? Then take a look at the “Archmage” – he is simply Prophet Velen from the Draenei. Although his staff has been changed – it is still a model from World of Warcraft.
In general, Dragon Glory seems to be one of those typical Facebook games where you log in briefly every half hour, make one or two clicks, and then let the game play itself again. So it’s not surprising that you can only really make progress later with real money spending. The regular image insertions of busty, lightly clad ladies then ensure that the initial suspicion is reinforced and you know exactly what qualities to expect from this game.
What do you think of these cheap copies and their obvious inspiration? A funny thing that one can easily overlook? Or should something like this be “sued away” immediately?
