On December 14, 2022, Season 1 of WoW Dragonflight starts. MeinMMO reveals what new content is coming and what you can get there.
When does Season 1 start? The servers are back online. You can play all the new content from Season 1 starting now.
What’s included in Season 1? With the update, new activities for level 70 open up, allowing you to obtain powerful loot:
- the first raid, the Vault of the Incarnates on normal, heroic, and mythic
- the Raid Browser opens the first wing on December 21
- 4 new world bosses
- Season 1 for Mythic+ with 8 dungeons
- World Event “Urstürme”
- the 1st PvP season of Dragonflight with a new arena
There are also changes to some classes. There is a nerf for all tanks, but also adjustments for DPS classes. You can find all the class changes in the forum post by Blizzard.
In our tier list for Dragonflight, you can see which classes are currently performing best. We will update you with the actual player results in the raid after the start of Season 1. Our DPS list for World of Warcraft will also be revised.

Vault of the Incarnates – Bosses and Loot
What kind of raid is this? The entrance to the Vault of the Incarnates is located in the east of Thaldraszus, just behind Tyrhold from Valdrakken. For the normal, heroic, and mythic versions, you have no further requirements; you can simply visit the raid. Later, in the Raid Browser, you will need an average item level of 359.
You will find 8 bosses in the vault, with the protodragon lady Raszageth as the final boss. You have already met Raszageth in the intro of Dragonflight, and she was also seen throughout the campaign. For many, she is already better than the big final boss of Shadowlands:
What loot drops? Depending on the difficulty and boss, you will receive various levels of equipment in the raid:
- Raid Finder: 376-385
- Normal: 389-398
- Heroic: 402-411
- Mythic: 415-424
Below the loot, you will also find tokens for set pieces of your class. Some bosses also have a chance to drop “very rare” loot, which is 6 levels above the item level normally found on the boss.
Certain “BoE” loot is bound upon pickup at first. So you cannot just buy loot. Additionally, you can find items from heroic and mythic bosses that allow you to create improvements for crafting professions.
These optional reagents increase the item level of certain crafted items to up to 405 (heroic) or 415 (mythic). However, you will need sufficiently strong crafting skill for that. We will tell you how to best level your professions.
Moreover, you can find mounts through loot and achievements in the vault, as well as the template “Embodiment of the Storm Eater,” which allows you to give your Renewed Protodrake the appearance of Raszageth.
The rune is a template for the popular dragonriding feature from Dragonflight. Here is some gameplay of the feature:
Mythic+ Season 1 – Dungeons and Loot
Which dungeons can I play in Season 1? In Season 1, you have 4 dungeons from Dragonflight and 4 dungeons from previous expansions available as Mythic Keystone dungeons:
- Algeth’ar Academy
- Ruby Life Pools
- Azure Vault
- Assault of the Nokhud
- Halls of Stars (Legion)
- Halls of Valor (Legion)
- Temple of the Jade Serpent (Mists of Pandaria)
- Shadowmoon Burial Grounds (Warlords of Draenor)
What loot can I get? Depending on what level you complete a dungeon at, you will receive various levels of loot in Mythic+:
- Level 2 grants items of level 376 upon completion
- every 2 levels you get 3 more levels – up to 405 at level 20
- in the weekly Great Vault, item level 421 is possible if you completed a dungeon at level 20
Similar to the raid, after a certain level you receive crafting materials with which you can create optional reagents. These increase the item level of certain crafted items to up to 405 or 415. We will tell you how to best skill professions in Dragonflight.
Additionally, valor points are available again, allowing you to upgrade your loot from Season 1 to up to level 415 if you reach a corresponding rating.

World Bosses and Urstürme
What world events are there? In Season 1, you can defeat 4 weekly rotating world bosses, each located in one of the 4 areas. Additionally, Urstürme start regularly in the areas, similar to the pre-event for Dragonflight.
What loot drops?
- World bosses drop items with level 389
- in Urstürme, you receive various tokens that you can exchange for equipment at level 359 (rare) or 385 (epic) as well as pets and a mount
The epic Ursturm items are sets that grant you a bonus when you wear multiple pieces of them. In Urstürme, you can also loot heirloom trinkets that allow you to level your alts faster. However, remember that you can only obtain items for purchasing epic gear once per week and type of storm.
