With the first weekly reset on November 30, there is finally strong, epic gear to be obtained in WoW Dragonflight. MeinMMO explains the sources from which you can obtain Epics and more to improve yourself.
On the 2nd day after the release of Dragonflight, there are already numerous players at the new maximum level 70. For some, it didn’t even take 3 hours to complete the entire leveling phase.
To prevent these players from racing ahead of the crowd too quickly and to allow everyone to progress at their own pace, Blizzard has delayed weekly rewards. Now, on November 30, the activities are finally available, including:
- weekly quests
- mythic dungeons
- specific tasks of the in-game factions
You can now also obtain the strong armor there. MeinMMO explains exactly where you can expect which loot and what you should do now to improve your characters. If you still need to level up, you can find useful tips for quick leveling in Dragonflight in our level guide.
By the way: WoW expert Doctorio believes that you shouldn’t waste too much time on just one character but should play twinks. More on this in the interview: We spoke with a German WoW expert – He says: “Dragonflight is designed for the long term and that’s a good thing”
In our special, you will find all information about Dragonflight. The trailer shows you once again the most important features of the expansion:
Epics from mythic dungeons
The best source of gear is mythic dungeons and dungeons in general – depending on what item level you already wear. In dungeons, you can expect the following loot:
- normal: Item-Level 346 (rare)
- heroic: Item-Level 359 (rare)
- mythic: Item-Level 372 (epic)
Dragonflight offers a total of 8 new dungeons that you can complete once a week on mythic difficulty and as often as you like on heroic difficulty. However, for mythic dungeons, you have to form a group yourself and travel to the dungeons; the dungeon finder does not work here.
Since you have no influence over whether and which loot you receive, you should always complete the dungeons first. With other activities, you can then target certain spots in your gear for improvement.
One of the most important items from the mythic dungeons is the “Titan Training Matrix IV.” With this, you can craft or have crafted items of item level 382. More on this in the next section.
Crafting, professions, and orders
Dragonflight has significantly revamped the professions. You can now specialize and allocate talents and even level through crafting, at least to a certain extent. Crafted items are now really strong.
As a crafter, you have the opportunity to specifically create items with a level of up to 382. However, you need to have specialized accordingly and ideally wear good profession accessories. To do this, you need a Titan Training Matrix, which then determines how strong the crafted gear will be:
- Mark I from rare mobs: Item-Level 333-343, requires level 64 to equip
- Mark II from normal dungeons: Item-Level 346-356, requires level 70 to equip
- Mark III from heroic dungeons: Item-Level 359-369, requires level 70 to equip
- Mark IV from mythic dungeons: Item-Level 372-382, requires level 70 to equip
The matrices make items soulbound, so you can no longer trade them. Nevertheless, you have the opportunity to obtain the items if you cannot craft them yourself.
Through the “Order” system in Valdrakken, you can have items crafted by other crafters if you provide the materials – even if they are soulbound.
In the video, we show you the most important features for crafters in Dragonflight:
Weekly rewards from quests and events
With the reset on November 30, the weekly quests and events can grant epic gear, which they did not provide before. In the respective reward bags, you will receive gold, resources, and a chance for gear and even mounts in certain cases.
You can complete the following activities:
- the siege of the Dragonflayer Fortress on the coast of the adult
- the Great Hunt with the centaurs in the Ohn’ahra plains
- the feast of Iskaara in the azure mountains
- the quest “Support the Accord” in Valdrakken, which changes weekly
Additionally, every 6 hours the new elemental storms appear, which were also present during the pre-event. There you can obtain special tokens, which you can exchange in Valdrakken for gear. There, you can find rare gear for easily farmable tokens and epic gear with better stats.
The special thing about the epic gear is that it grants small set bonuses. However, the currency needed for this is limited to one token per element and week. You should probably have enough tokens for 2 items by the release of Season 1.
More details are also explained by WoW expert Belular in his new video:
Gear through Fame
With Dragonflight, the known reputation system is replaced by a Fame system, similar to what was present with the Covenants in Shadowlands. However, here you can collect fame from all factions simultaneously and earn various rewards.
What gear you receive for which slot at which level varies from faction to faction. However, you can check the overview to see which fame level provides you with which rewards.
You can obtain gear with up to item level 389 through factions.
Gear through PvP
Also, since November 30, there is a weekly PvP quest available, with which you can earn Honor. You also receive various tokens by using the War Mode in the open world.
At the PvP vendors in Valdrakken, you can exchange the tokens for rare and epic loot, similar to the Storm Events in PvE. Here, too, there are small set bonuses that can be worthwhile.
The activities can be worthwhile if you want to swap certain slots or if you enjoy PvP. If you are not a fan of PvP, there are plenty of other activities available to you. This is also the philosophy behind the entire expansion.
The Dragon Isles could be quite crowded. We were live during the big rush when the addon launched:
What’s next?
In the week of December 12, the first season of Dragonflight will start. There you can obtain even stronger gear through mythic keystone dungeons (M+) and the first raid of the expansion.
All difficulty levels of the raid will open immediately, except for the raid finder, and Mythic+ will provide you with the same item level as the raid. So you can choose where you prefer to gear up.
However, only 4 of the new dungeons will be available for Mythic+, plus 4 dungeons from previous expansions of WoW. If you want to know which classes are leading, there are already some initial assessments available:
