Two legendary items simultaneously in World of Warcraft. That sounds enticing, but has severe limitations. We will reveal to you which.
A few days ago, Blizzard released a small preview video for the upcoming content. It was about Patch 9.2 “The End of Eternity”, the final major content patch of Shadowlands. In addition to the new area Zereth Mortis, there is also another interesting announcement.
What was announced for Patch 9.2? Besides the introduction video for Patch 9.2, there were also a number of interviews and reveals about the upcoming content. One of them was the announcement that Patch 9.2 will bring the possibility of wearing 2 legendary items simultaneously. The limit of one legendary item will thus be lifted, allowing you to extract significantly more power from your character.
What limitations are there? You cannot just wear any two Legendaries and combine them. This would lead to quite absurd combinations for some classes and completely throw off the balance.
Instead, Legendary items will be divided into two different types, and you can wear one of each type.
- The first Legendary is your Covenant Legendary. These are the powers that enhance your respective Covenant ability.
- The second Legendary is any other from the entire pool of Legendaries that you have unlocked.
In plain text, this means: You can wear a Covenant Legendary and a non-Covenant Legendary.
Presumably, there will also be a “Best in Slot” variant for each class and specialization, which will surely emerge during the testing phase of Patch 9.2.
Furthermore, the feature for “2 Legendaries simultaneously” will only be available during Patch 9.2. It will most likely be tied to the progression system of Zereth Mortis. However, the unlocking should occur account-wide. If you have the bonus on one character, all your other characters at level 60 can immediately equip 2 legendary items simultaneously.
When is it coming? There is no specific date for the release of Patch 9.2 yet. Since a major patch is usually tested for about 3 months, one can assume that a release will be possible at the earliest in February 2022. Depending on how extensive the patch is and whether there are any issues, this date may, of course, be further postponed.
