Professional knowledge is more important than ever in The War Within. So you shouldn’t miss out on these bonus points in World of Warcraft.
With the launch of a new expansion, players in World of Warcraft start “from scratch” again. This applies not only to gear but also to the progress in the individual professions. It is important to collect professional knowledge as early and as completely as possible if you want to establish a reputation as a good craftsman or efficient farmer.
We will tell you how to get some extra knowledge points.
Here’s how to get extra knowledge points: The Darkmoon Faire is currently active. It is always from the first Sunday of the month until the following Saturday – so currently until September 7, 2024.
Use the time until then and visit the fair. You can find the corresponding portals in the Elwynn Forest (Alliance) or Mulgore (Horde). You can also speak to Faire NPCs in Stormwind or Orgrimmar to teleport directly to the fair.
In addition to the fair quests for mini-games, there is also a special quest for each profession that gives you some professional knowledge for very little effort – depending on the profession, 2-3 points. Most of the time, you just have to collect items at the fair. However, for some quests, you also have to leave the fair and buy some cheap items from the general goods vendor or visit a blacksmith.

You can repeat the quest every month – however, if you miss it, the points for that month are lost. So try to complete them as soon as possible!
If you are at the fair, you should also ride the carousel to get the reputation buff for one hour. This gives you another 10% more reputation, for example, when completing world or campaign quests.
How else can you gain professional knowledge? In addition to the Darkmoon Faire, there are many other sources of professional knowledge in The War Within. These include:
- One-time treasures
- Weekly treatises from scribes
- Rewards from fame levels
- Weekly quests.
New in The War Within is also the option to earn extra points through crafting orders from NPCs. At the respective workstation of your crafting profession, you will find a new tab for NPC orders. When you complete these orders, you often receive professional knowledge as a reward. So you should invest resources to keep the NPCs happy.
