It’s Christmas in WoW too, and there are special gifts. Don’t forget about them amidst the Shadowlands hustle…
Most players of World of Warcraft are currently likely staying permanently in the Shadowlands. No wonder, after all WoW: Shadowlands is only a month old, and there’s still plenty to do for most. However, one should not lose sight of the fact that time is also passing in the rest of the game world. Currently, the annual Winter Veil Festival is taking place again. It rewards players year after year with new gifts and toys. You shouldn’t miss out this time either.
Where are the gifts? This depends on which faction you belong to. You need to visit the large Winter Veil tree of your faction.
- Horde players travel to Orgrimmar for this. The tree is in the Valley of Honor and is hard to miss.
- Alliance players go to Ironforge and visit the banking district. Right in front of the bank entrance, Father Winter sits along with the large tree.
After that, you can start opening gifts. Make sure you open all of them and don’t miss any – because there are some rewards.

What’s new in 2020? In 2020, there are two new rewards from the gifts that you should secure.
- The first is “Jingles”, a purple Raptor baby with white spots that you can also use as a battle pet. Anyone who enjoys pet battles should definitely not miss out on this pet.
- The second gift is the Wreath Ring, a new toy for your collection. You can use it to throw a wreath like a frisbee at another player. The other player automatically catches the wreath and then throws it back to you.
In addition, Pepe fans can still get a new version of the little bird, which now wears a winter hat and has a beard. Pepe is right next to Father Winter and is also hard to miss. Last year Blizzard had already promoted him, but he wasn’t available yet.
How much longer does it last? The Winter Veil Festival is active until January 1st inclusive. So you have exactly one more week from today to grab the gifts.
Have you already picked up the Winter Veil gifts? Or would you have completely forgotten about them?
