The great slaughter in World of Warcraft continues. This player is eliminating dozens of enemies solo – only with a few special pets.
With Patch 9.0 of World of Warcraft, the legend of the player Rextroy should have come to an end. But even after the removal of PvP scaling, he has once again managed to find an interesting way to defeat his opponents. This time, he doesn’t even have to do the work himself, but uses companions to carry out the task for him.
What is shown in the video? Rextroy plays his Death Knight and goes hunting for Horde players. He summons several Water Elementals with the item Sea Totem, which can be farmed in Nazjatar. The item has a cooldown of 10 seconds, and the elemental lasts for 60 seconds each – meaning you can have up to 6 elementals active at the same time. The video then shows how Rextroy only has to use Death Grip. The rest is handled by the elementals, which often deal with enemy players in under a second. Particularly cloth-wearers stand no chance against them.
Why are the elementals so strong? Apparently, the scaling here is faulty. Because although the elementals should be at level 50, they hit incredibly hard. Their attacks deal between 3,000 and 6,000 damage points, which wipes out even well-equipped players in no time – especially when multiple elementals are present.
Even though the elementals have “only” about 11,000 health points when viewed and are displayed as level 50, they actually possess over 90,000 health points and are still level 120. Enemy players often miss the elementals and have little means to counter them.
Presumably, these totems were simply overlooked during the big level squish, as they reportedly still summon an elemental at level 120 according to the wowhead database, which explains their strength.
As usual, the error is likely to be fixed relatively quickly. Rextroy reports his found bugs and exploits to Blizzard, which usually resolve the issue within a few days via hotfix.
In any case, it is astonishing that Rextroy continues to manage to uncover new exploits and amusing kill opportunities week after week.
What do you think of Rextroy’s latest video?
