The Xorothian Cultists in World of Warcraft are casting spells again. What will happen this time when the spell is completed?
In World of Warcraft, there are always hidden clues about upcoming events or special Easter eggs. Since patch 7.2, Blizzard has implemented a very special type of enemy on the Broken Shore. The Xorothian Cultists are basically not a threat, but they have an interesting secret.
They are casting the spell “Demonic Channeling,” which has an extremely long casting time. This time they are casting the spell for just under 520 hours, which is a little more than 21 days.
In the past, this casting time was a countdown that announced various things in the game, such as the release of patch 7.3.5, which brought changes to Silithus.
The new countdown suggests that something will change in WoW with the maintenance on March 7th – as the spell will then be completed.
Cultist Spell – Does it Announce the Beta Start?
Fans are eagerly speculating about what it could be this time. There are several possibilities:
- The story of Silithus continues with a new set of quests
- The battlefield “Seething Shore” will be made accessible
Another part of the community hopes that the countdown has nothing to do with the current version of World of Warcraft, but rather indicates other announcements, such as:
- A release date or a trailer for “World of Warcraft: Classic”
- The official start of the beta of Battle for Azeroth with a new invite wave (currently, the alpha is still ongoing)
Until then, we probably have no choice but to watch the diligent Xorothian Cultists channeling.
