In almost 20 years, many players have made embarrassing mistakes in World of Warcraft. They share their most embarrassing noob stories today and can laugh about them.
Millions of people have played World of Warcraft in their lives. And although many now consider themselves the coolest fish in Azeroth’s ponds, most started out as total noobs. For many, WoW was not only the first MMORPG but often one of the very first video games at all. Accordingly, an MMORPG is quite complex and leads to a lot of “noob mistakes.”
In the WoW subreddit, user mcnakladak wanted to know which noob mistakes other players made during their first visit to WoW. We would like to present some of the highlights from the thread here.
Dr-Laquisha confesses:
I read the original description of the Tauren, where they were described as “a predominantly peaceful people.” So I ran from Darnassus to Thunder Bluff as a low-level night elf because I thought I could befriend them and get a kodo instead of a nightsaber, but they immediately killed me.
ErankLuck reveals:
I had no idea that you could also hold both mouse buttons to run. I only controlled with the arrow keys, which do not allow you to swim down. Every time I saw a mineral underwater, I reported it as a bug to a GM.
GMs from Vanilla, if you are here, I’m really sorry for spamming you like that.
For the next patch, you should have put your noob mistakes aside:
Brandino_Peppino reports on his first encounter with hunters:
Back in Vanilla – As a dwarf paladin, I tried for 6 hours over 3 days to “tame” a bear by killing it over and over again because I saw a hunter with a bear and thought it looked cool.
Frostyboidk thought WoW was a little smaller than it actually was:
When I played for the first time, I thought the starting area was the only zone for each race. I played through them all once and then stopped because I thought I had completed the game.
RoboQwop405 poses a question that one has to consider first:
Before I logged out for the first time, I asked people how I could save my game…
Ofthenightfall shares a whole series of almost adorable mistakes:
I always sent my pet companions away before entering a building because I thought animals were not allowed inside.
I asked NPCs for help and stood in line to talk to them.
I always let my flying mount rest a little because I thought it would get tired and eventually drop me.
Do you also have some mistakes from your past that you want to share with us? Or do you prefer to lie and claim that you made no mistakes?
