This content offers Burning Crusade Classic
What’s included in the addon? Just like in 2007, players can step through the Dark Portal and enter the shattered world. You will first land on the Hellfire Peninsula and can then explore 4 more areas.
Burning Crusade also offers:
- An increase in level cap from 60 to 70
- Flying mounts
- Raids featuring interesting characters like Illidan, Lady Vashj, and Kael’thas
- The new profession Jewelcrafting
- Arena battles in PvP
If you can’t wait for the new content, you can dive into the ongoing beta of Burning Crusade Classic now.
Is Burning Crusade exactly like in 2007? No, as some adjustments are being made. Many contents are already at the state of Patch 2.4.3, a slightly later patch in the Burning Crusade era. Players can already learn riding at level 30.
Changes are also being made to the drums that played an important role in the raid meta before and the Seal of Blood for Paladins.
The most important adjustments compared to 2007 are summarized here: Is Burning Crusade like it was back then? No, Blizzard is changing quite a bit.
In these phases, Burning Crusade Classic will evolve
- Phase 1 brings the original 8 dungeons, the raids Karazhan, Gruul’s Lair, and Magtheridon’s Lair, as well as the first season in arena-PvP. This phase is expected to appear “a few weeks after the expansion’s release”.
- Phase 2 will provide access to the Serpent Shrine Cavern and the Tempest Keep.
- Phase 3 starts the second arena season along with the raids around Mount Hyjal and the Black Temple.
- Phase 4 begins with arena season 3 and delivers the dungeon Zul’Aman.
- Phase 5 brings the Isle of Quel’Danas, the Sunwell Plateau, and arena season 4 of PvP.
Deluxe Edition and Character Boost
What’s included in the Deluxe Edition? The new Deluxe Edition allows you to purchase some interesting advantages for WoW Classic, as well as for Retail WoW. It is expected to cost $69.99 and includes:
- The mount Revived Phase Hunter – a creature that absorbs the otherworldly energies that transformed Draenor into the shattered world. Can only be used in Burning Crusade Classic and was adapted to the style of the original expansion.
- The mount Viridian Phase Hunter – a visually adjusted variant for the modern World of Warcraft (including Shadowlands)
- The hearthstone effect: Dark Portal for use in Burning Crusade Classic with a unique visual effect based on the portal between worlds
- The toy Illidan’s Path for Burning Crusade Classic, which causes your character’s footprints to leave flickering hellfire for a short time.
- The pass to the Dark Portal, which allows you to boost one of your characters to level 58 (the same restrictions apply as with the separately available Dark Portal pass. Upgrading to the Deluxe Edition does not grant a second pass.)
- 30 days of playtime for World of Warcraft with access to WoW Classic, Burning Crusade Classic and the modern game
What does the character boost offer? With the boost, you can bring a new character directly to level 58. Additionally, this character will receive:
- The ability ‘Apprentice Riding’
- A race-specific rare mount
- Weapon skills up to level 58
- Access to certain flight routes
- A set of magical (green) gear for level 58
- Four rune cloth bags (with 14 slots each)
- Some gold to start your journey
The boost will cost $39.99.
