Long queues await you this weekend when Team Elysium launches the new Classic WoW server.
After Blizzard ensured that the popular private server “Nostalrius” was shut down last year, this project has since been revived with the help of Team Elysium. A newly revived server will soon be added. This weekend, a fresh Vanilla WoW server will be launched. The aim is to recreate the feeling of the release of World of Warcraft, where all players start at the same level.
New PvP Vanilla Server Starts Saturday
The new server from Team Elysium is set to launch on Saturday. On January 7 at 6:00 PM, the server is expected to open its gates and send the first players to Azeroth. Given the expected influx of players on this server, you should be prepared for long wait times. The restart of the Classic server “Nostalrius” already caused issues. The server launched by Team Elysium was targeted by DDoS attacks. There may be similar issues with this fresh server as well.
In this video, the team introduces the new realm:
On this new server, you will level up under Vanilla conditions without aids like teleportation or increased XP rewards. The Vanilla servers are meant for players who want to relive the old feeling of World of Warcraft. However, this also includes overcrowded starting areas and opponents that can be camped. Questing and leveling will not be easy, especially in the early days of the server. But that was part of the launch of World of Warcraft.
As always in reports about Nostalrius, a warning: These projects operate against Blizzard’s wishes. So you play at your own risk.
