In the MMORPG World of Warcraft, WoW Classic is very popular. Now, a Blizzard employee warns that the US server Herod is massively overcrowded. Players should switch or there will be queues with more than 10,000 players or even more.
Which server is it? It is the US PvP realm Herod, one of 13 originally servers in the American region. Herod is one of the 5 PvP servers that are supposed to open in America.
Queue with over 10,000 – possibly more
This is what Blizzard says: Community Manager Randy Jordan says that after the name reservation for WoW Classic it is clear that Herod will be massively overpopulated. If everyone who registered there really stays, there will surely be queues with more than 10,000 players – possibly more.
Therefore, they will now open “Stalagg” as another new realm and hope that as many players as possible will register there instead of on Herod.
It literally says: “We urge players on Herod to consider switching to Stalagg.”
Blizzard says: We will not open another server for WoW Classic until Stalagg is full.
The new servers are much larger than the old ones
How full are the servers? Blizzard adds that the news about server populations is based on “new, enlarged capacities.”
A realm that is currently labeled as “medium” has many more players than the most densely populated realm back in 2006.
Blizzard could theoretically allow many more players on a server than in 2006 – but will not raise that limit any further. Otherwise, there would later be queues.
Why is Herod so popular? In the US community, Herod has emerged as the server where players want to have the most “authentic gaming experience in WoW Classic.”
Therefore, the big Twitch streamers for WoW Classic will not create characters there, but will move to the realm Faerlina.
Are there also such problems in Germany? German players have limited server choices – currently, only one German PvE server and one German PvP server are planned for WoW Classic.
