In WoW Classic, there has recently been a lot of frustration regarding world PvP. Now Blizzard seems to have listened to player criticism and is adjusting the content plan.
This is the problem: Since November 14, the PvP system in WoW Classic has been active. It is possible to defeat opponents, earn honor, and rank up. However, there haven’t been any proper battlegrounds so far.
The Open World PvP, however, disappointed many players. They wished for a more balanced PvP experience and have therefore recently demanded that the battlegrounds be brought forward. The honor system led to “Kill-Squads” roaming around on PvP servers to defeat players at lower levels.
Thus, PvP is less enjoyable than hoped, and questing in the areas has become a real problem for many on very crowded servers like Lucifron.
WoW Classic brings battlegrounds earlier
This is how Blizzard reacts: As Community Manager “Kaivax” announced in the forum, the PvP content in WoW Classic will actually be brought forward. The two PvP battlegrounds Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch were originally planned to be released in Phase 3 next year, like the raid Blackwing Lair and the Darkmoon Faire. However, they will now be available sooner.
In fact, the battlegrounds will be available starting the week of December 10. At the same time, elemental invasions will take place in Un’goro Crater, Azshara, Winter Spring, and Silithus.
This is why this step is taken: It is emphasized that the developments in the community over the past week have been closely monitored, and there is excitement for the next three weeks. Nevertheless, they are looking forward to the battlegrounds – just like many players. Therefore, Blizzard decided to detach the battlegrounds from the previous plan and unlock them early.
