WoW Classic is currently extremely popular – even the official site is crashing due to the influx of players.
It is the night of the release of World of Warcraft Classic and chaos is already in full swing. Although the servers of WoW Classic are not ready for play yet, various services from Blizzard are already failing.
The Blizzard shop is down: Many players seem to have “relapsed” in the last hours and want to buy game time or other services for World of Warcraft in the Blizzard shop. This apparently overwhelmed the Blizzard shop because it has not been accessible for about an hour. Instead, there is now the message that the shop is “under maintenance” – which simply means that it couldn’t handle the influx. Too many players are trying to access the shop right now.
Long queues on the servers: Queues have already formed on the realms for World of Warcraft Classic. Depending on the realm, players report waiting queues between 1,000 and 30,000 players – the wait time is already estimated at 1-5 hours. Meanwhile, players can’t even get beyond character creation. The official release and the opportunity to log into the game takes place at midnight.

Is it worth staying up? If anyone wants to play tonight, they should quickly join the queue, otherwise it looks rather bleak. So if someone plans to get up early tomorrow morning, they might want to just sleep over it and skip the release and the frustration.
Everyone else with endurance can, of course, continue to try. Whether WoW Classic will be able to withstand the influx of players, we will find out in a few minutes.
