90 black Qiraj War Tanks on a single realm in WoW Classic? The Russians have done it – breaking records.
Just a few days ago, we reported on a special realm in World of Warcraft Classic. On Fairbanks there were proudly 49 Scarab Lords on one server – an extremely large number. But a Russian realm thought “Challenge Accepted” and immediately buried that record, nearly doubling the number. A total of 90 Scarab Lords are now on the Russian realm Flamegor.
Why is it so hard? To become a Scarab Lord in WoW Classic, you must complete a pretty long quest line. It’s virtually impossible alone; you need the help of a guild or many friends. After all, thousands of items need to be farmed, and several raids need to be mastered, during which unique items need to be distributed to the right players.
In addition, there is massive time pressure. Because as soon as the first player has completed the quest line, the clock is ticking for all other players. Only 10 hours remain to complete the quest and get the black Qiraj War Tank – the perhaps most exclusive mount in the entire game.
How did they do it? Many of the large guilds had already made a pact before the event started. To give many players enough time to complete everything necessary, they held back on resource submissions.
Only from August 12 did all participating guilds plan to submit the resources for the war efforts to the NPCs. Even that was not enough, so the war efforts were completed only on August 16. This extra time was used by even more players to prepare for the event. Other realms had concluded the event already on day 1.
Especially cool: One player even secured his mount for the second time. Once nearly 15 years ago in Vanilla WoW and once now in Classic.
Attempts to sabotage were made by some guilds with a rather bad reputation on the realm, which are said to be involved in real money sales and keep throwing obstacles in the players’ paths. However, since Flamegor is still a realm with layers, this problem could be overcome with enough patience.
Most Successful Realm in WoW History? Flamegor is likely the first and probably the only realm for a long time where there are 90 players with the most sought-after mount in the history of World of Warcraft. While there are still a few realms where the war efforts have not yet been completed, it is rather unlikely that they can provide such a massive number of players with mounts.
On other realms, cooperation went differently. Players have teamed up to ruin a guild’s big debut.
