PvP bots have a hard time in WoW Classic as real players fight back. A bot fell from rank 10 to rank 1 – in just about an hour.
Just yesterday we reported on how some players in WoW Classic made life difficult for a PvP bot. They inflicted numerous ruthless kills upon it, leading to a decline in its PvP rating. It dropped from rank 6 to rank 3.
This incident has apparently inspired other players to also give other PvP bots a hard time. The method is similar, but the impact was even more devastating.
What happened? On Reddit, user YouPoro showed a few screenshots of a known player using a bot to farm honor in the Alterac Valley. Since this bot automatically accepts invites, it could be invited to a group and teleported to another location by a warlock. The group did just that and promptly teleported the AFK bot to the Depths. There, the group repeatedly killed the gnome “Nipsy”, resulting in ruthless kills and thereby reducing the PvP rating of all players in the group.

Why is this more effective? The method used by YouPoro and his friends is significantly more effective than the endeavor in Southshore during yesterday’s incident. This is because the NPC “Nipsy” has a respawn timer of only 5-10 seconds and furthermore has very few hit points. Additionally, the Depths is virtually unguarded, so no annoying NPC guards spawn. Thus, it is possible to accumulate this ruthless kill up to 10 times per minute, which quickly ruined the ranking of the bot player.
By the way, there was a ban wave in WoW Classic recently.
The result speaks for itself: The end result was that the botter fell from rank 10 to rank 1 – and that in the space of just about an hour. This nullified the “work” of several weeks. According to another screenshot, the player subsequently left his guild and intends to turn his back on World of Warcraft:
GG guys, I’m done with Classic. I guess I got what I deserved.
Therefore: Everything done right.
Or do you see it differently? Do bot users deserve such a lesson? Or is the method already too malicious?
