World of Warcraft Classic launched just over a day ago and has attracted hundreds of thousands of players to the servers, who are now roaming around in Azeroth. After the long queues in the first hours, most players should have gained their first impression of Classic by now.
But how is WoW Classic being received by you? We want to find out in a survey.
High expectations from veterans: WoW Classic has already raised high expectations among players in advance. After all, veterans waited almost a decade for official Classic servers to finally exist. Many disagreed with changes to the game and can no longer identify with modern WoW. For them, the Classic announcement was probably the best gaming news in years.
Newcomers experience a legend: When long-time veterans have told the “newcomers” in WoW about their time from Vanilla, it always felt something like “Grandpa is telling war stories again.” Now the newcomers themselves have the opportunity to check out the MMORPG legend. But can Classic really live up to what other WoW players have always reported?
Classic lacks a lot of comfort: In summary, WoW Classic lacks many of the comfort features that are standard in every MMORPG today. Long regeneration times, a longer leveling phase, and generally more time investment are just a few aspects.
On the other hand, the social structure is quite different, as groups must be assembled manually. Those who are not willing to interact with other players will likely have a hard time in Classic. For some, this is an uncomfortable hurdle.
