World of Warcraft Classic has opened its servers. You can now dive back into classic Azeroth and experience a game world from 15 years ago.
Right on time at midnight, the launch of World of Warcraft Classic has finally begun. At 00:01 today (Tuesday, 27.08.2019), the realms were opened. Thousands of players are gathering in the starting areas, completing their first quests and embarking on the arduous path to level 60.
Long queues are expected: Those who are not logged into the game will have to deal with larger queues, as the demand for WoW Classic is high. Those who have chosen one of the already marked “full” servers will find it particularly bleak. In that case, it may be possible that they won’t even get into the queue, as it is even full. In such cases, wait times of many hours are to be expected.
Why is WoW Classic so popular? The long queues suggest that WoW Classic is extremely popular. This has several reasons.
On the one hand, there are many players who long for the original version of WoW. They may not agree with the changes of the last years or want to indulge in nostalgia and the old gaming feel that once led them to the hobby of MMORPGs.
Other players, however, have never played WoW in its original version and are now eager to see if Classic really lives up to all the legends that players have recited to them for over a decade.
Whether both groups will retain their interest in WoW Classic in the long run remains to be seen in the coming months.
