A hunter has hit the jackpot in WoW Classic – or rather, not at all. Because he leveled to 60 without using a pet or ranged attacks.
In World of Warcraft Classic, there are many challenges. The first is simply surviving the long journey to level 60 unscathed, as it takes an extreme amount of time. But not everyone finds that challenging enough, which is why some like to add a few extra rules and difficulties. That’s exactly what a hunter has done now by reaching level 60 – but without a bow, gun, or even a pet.
What happened? In the WoW subreddit, the player Dorald-Dunt showcased a picture of his huntress and told an adventurous story. Allegedly, he played this huntress from level 1 to 60 without taming a companion or using a bow or any ranged weapon.
In the screenshot, you can see the proof of this. Dorald-Dunt’s huntress “Veryconfused” can still accept the quest to tame pets. Meanwhile, her current skill in using bows stands at a skill of 1 – so she has never shot with a bow.
How did this go down in groups? Encountering other players was of course a bit strange, as they could immediately recognize the hunter who was apparently playing “quite wrong” at first glance. Therefore, Dorald-Dunt only joined groups when courtesy required it or help was needed. Once a player in Westfall even tried to hand him a bow – which he of course did not use.
Why is this so special? In World of Warcraft Classic, hunters have only a handful of melee abilities, most of which do not deal much damage. Playing exclusively with these abilities is extremely limiting. After all, it means giving up all special shots that would deal significant damage. Without a companion, the personal tank is also gone along with additional bonus damage.
This is how other players react: In the WoW Classic subreddit, there is a lot of support for the hunter’s achievement. The post has now received over 3,000 upvotes and a positive response of 95%. With clear humor, some players remark, “So you practically leveled a paladin?” since the playstyle of that class during the leveling phase is similarly “interesting.”
Another hunter had also achieved a crazy feat a while ago – he leveled to 60 in WoW Classic by only killing pigs.
