Before the release of WoW Classic many German-speaking players are concerned that the two German servers Lucifron and Everlook might be overcrowded. Both have already been displayed as “full”. A community manager has now pointed out: “If necessary, Blizzard will certainly respond.”
This is the situation: For days, there has been a lot of activity in the German Blizzard forum about WoW regarding one topic: “The German servers are completely full. (via forums.blizzard)”
A thread with this title has over 1900 comments and more than 25,000 views – this is a hot topic. The interest in WoW Classic seems to be great in Germany.
However, Blizzard only provides two German servers for WoW Classic – and they only came after players protested heavily for them.
The thread was opened on August 13, when name reservation began. Players made it clear:
- The two German servers for WoW Classic are already full
- While the servers in Russia and France are only medium or low populated
- The English-speaking, international servers for WoW Classic in Europe still have space – although some servers are full, others are not
The fear of the huge queue
The fear of German players: “Our servers are completely full and elsewhere there is still room. Are we going to be stuck in the queue forever or will we have to switch to other servers?”

They fear that Blizzard might underestimate how great the enthusiasm for WoW Classic is in Germany and that players would then have to pay for it.
Others, however, reassure: Blizzard knows what they are doing. The “full” display fluctuates as well.
This is what Blizzard says now: The community manager “Toschayju” has spoken up and reassured the fans (via forums.blizzard).
He says: “As you can see, they have already reacted for the English-speaking area (US and EU) and if it is necessary for the German-speaking community, they will (and I am sure of this) take appropriate steps as quickly as possible to ensure that WoW Classic is a great experience for everyone.”
2 New Servers Open – Is a 3rd German Server for WoW Classic Coming?
What does he mean by that? The community manager can only mean that Blizzard will provide additional German servers should Lucifron and Everlook be as full as it appears.
Because that is exactly what Blizzard has already done in Europe and the USA with international servers. Even there, some servers were too full and Blizzard brought additional PvP servers online, even before the release of WoW Classic:
- On August 14, Gehennas went live in Europe
- Later, Stalagg was added in North America – here Blizzard explicitly urged players from the overcrowded realm Herod to switch there
What about other solutions? Blizzard has already said that they can theoretically increase server capacity even further, but they do not want to do so because that could lead to later problems and queues.
Already now, the servers are much larger than they were back then – today servers on “medium” are much larger than the fullest servers in 2006, said community manager Kaivax in the US forum for WoW Classic (via forums.blizzard).
Blizzard will not simply introduce new servers for WoW Classic – it is assumed that after the initial hype around WoW Classic, some will drop out. Then hastily launched extra servers could quickly be empty. The release of WoW Classic is in a few days.
