A short video introduces the most brutal enemies that World of Warcraft has ever produced – the Fel Reavers from the shattered world.
In almost 17 years of World of Warcraft, many enemies have caused sleepless nights for players. But few are as notorious as the Fel Reaver from Hellfire Peninsula. Whether you were just “briefly AFK” or quickly picking a flower, the Fel Reaver caused traumatic experiences. This is a circumstance that the YouTuber Gorak has now addressed in an amusing video.
What are Fel Reavers? WoW players from the more recent past may not know Fel Reavers at all. These are huge mechanical monsters found in Hellfire Peninsula, the starting area of the first expansion “The Burning Crusade.” They march across almost the entire zone and can therefore be encountered anywhere.
In fact, these creatures are so large that they are hard to miss. However, they have a habit of “sneaking up” on players and then striking them down while their character is recovering health and mana. The impending doom was always announced by a tremor and a very characteristic sound that still causes sweat-inducing fear for WoW players today.
Why were Fel Reavers so dangerous? Fel Reavers were particularly deadly because they were elite enemies for a level 70 quest. Anyone leveling in Hellfire Peninsula at levels 58-62 would be taken down extremely quickly by such an elite monster. Due to the level difference, Fel Reavers also had a larger aggro radius and would often rush in from many meters away to bring a swift end to their unsuspecting victim.
Most WoW veterans or newer players in “Burning Crusade Classic” are likely to have at least one memory of the Fel Reavers and their sudden appearances – and of the panicked running away, which usually leads to a timely and painful death.
