A modder has developed an addon for WoW Classic that aims to bring the most controversial feature of World of Warcraft into the game: the group search. The emergence of the addon has caused quite a stir.
This is the addon in question: The user insaneKane has published an “LFG addon” on Github for the WoW Classic coming in August. He utilized his beta access to write the corresponding code.
The addon is supposed to function like the LFG tool in WoW, about which there have been ongoing controversial discussions since its introduction in WotLK. Players should be able to group up for dungeons and tackle them together. Something that WoW Classic would otherwise lack:
Do not be afraid! I, InsaneKane, have used my beta access to create an addon that already works in the Classic beta and will only be used better and more often until launch! It allows you to sign up with the push of a button and throw together the perfect number of group members in an instant.

A feature like teleporting to the dungeon does not exist because players had to journey there themselves in Classic. However, InsaneKane wants to ensure that each group gets a warlock who can teleport the others.
How the community reacts: In a post in the WoW Classic subreddit, shock has already broken out due to the LFG addon. The user gy-psy asks other Classic fans to destroy the functionality before the addon ruins the game.
However, other users were able to calm down: It apparently seems to be a troll. This is suggested by both the way the description is written and another circumstance.
Apparently, the streamer Esfand has already mentioned in his stream that the addon is satire. It goes against everything, that Classic should be.
Would that work? The functionality of the addon is also being doubted. One user pointed out that the addon’s code looks too refined to still be taken as a joke. However, another clarified:
The code is just a copy of an addon from Curse, which is just a reskin of the tool in the game. It will not work because it relies on the LFG tool in the game working.
