In the Arathi Basin of WoW Classic, things are chaotic – and often very aimless. You can relive these clichéd memories once again.
There are a whole lot of nostalgic memories in every area of World of Warcraft Classic. Especially in PvP, these memories are pronounced, as it was for many players the first contact point with group PvP. In addition to Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley, the Arathi Basin has recently been added to WoW Classic. And it brings a lot of fun – but also the usual frustration over the aimlessness of the players.
The YouTuber Gorak’s Guide has made a small machinima on this topic again, and probably every player can relate to these situations. The video shows pretty much all the clichés of teammates that one can experience in PvP – and perhaps also the times one has become one of them. Previously, Gorak’s Guide had also presented the absurdity of Alterac Valley or amused himself about the queues in WoW Classic.
This can be seen in the video: The video starts right with the preparation of the battlefield. While one player takes on the role of raid leader and tries to give commands that (possibly) could lead to victory, a large part of the players is already running against the gate to “not be a second late” – even though the battle starts in over a minute.
What follows are the almost clichéd encounters that everyone knows from the Arathi Basin:
- The nasty undead priest throws a poor Alliance player into the abyss with mind control.
- Two players fight over a completely irrelevant point that has nothing to do with achieving victory.
- Right before you can take a base, you are attacked.
- No player captures the stables – all 15 players just run past.
- Some guy with engineering has crazy effects that heavily impact the game.
Actually, all that’s missing is a chat overlay where a few players proclaim that everyone else are noobs and that only they themselves have absorbed battlefield wisdom with spoons.
The video about the Arathi Basin is, by the way, one that still has relevance today. Just as chaotically, many PvP battles in the new Arathi Basin still unfold in the current WoW.
