More than 4,800 players of WoW Classic are starting “fresh” on a realm. Will you be there to experience the “launch feeling” once again?
Starting fresh in World of Warcraft Classic, on a realm with like-minded players – a dream that many gamers have. But at BlizzCon, the developers stated that there will likely be no “Fresh Start” realms for the launch of Burning Crusade Classic. Those looking for a complete fresh start into Classic will be disappointed.
However, the WoW community knows how to find a solution: More than (so far) 4,800 players simply want to take over one of the “dead” realms and create their own “fresh” experience. They call it “The Fresh Crusade”. The number of players wishing to participate is steadily increasing.
What is a “Fresh Start” realm? The community refers to a new server where players have achieved nothing yet. There are no characters at level 60, no one has a huge inventory full of gold, and bots have not yet taken over the economy. A “Fresh Start” would be exactly that – a new beginning, an opportunity to start anew with like-minded individuals who all begin from scratch.
Why do players want this? For some players, it’s not just the endgame in WoW Classic that is interesting, but especially the excitement at the beginning of the game. Starting together on a realm, leveling in groups, or playing dungeons at low levels is appealing to many.
On the current Classic realms, however, this is hardly possible. Most players are already level 60, and leveling in the traditional way is hardly done. Those wanting to power-level a second character often rely on a friendly mage and get “boosted” through dungeons to reach level 60 almost effortlessly.
Moreover, bots and thus gold inflation are massive problems on many realms. Those who want to farm resources or earn gold compete with a multitude of bots that Blizzard finds difficult to control. This leads to many players possessing several tens of thousands of gold, and items in the auction house cost astronomically high prices that newcomers can hardly afford.
How can you participate? If you are interested in joining the “The Fresh Crusade” project, simply visit the Discord server of the project. There, you will also find information about the chosen realm at the end, as this will be revealed only at the last moment to prevent anyone from starting too early. It is already known that it will be a EU realm.
However, the players want to start on a PvP realm. If you’re not into PvP in the open world, this project is probably not for you.
When does it start? It is supposed to start this Friday (March 5, 2021) at 7:00 PM. Then, the over 4,800 players want to start together on one of the rather “dead” realms, thus revitalizing it and ensuring a nice leveling experience with a healthy community.
