Raiding in WoW Classic was hard? These players prove the opposite and complete a raid completely naked.
Raiding in World of Warcraft has always had certain standards. Discipline, good preparation, and appropriate character equipment are essentially mandatory. But can you also leave out one element of this equation? Yes, you can. A raid group has defeated Onyxia while wearing no equipment at all. The raid consisted of 40 naked characters.
What happened? The raid boss Onyxia is sometimes dangerous for players with solid gear due to her mechanics. Fear effects or an unpleasant push into the dragon eggs can take down many raid groups. However, Sallamos’ YouTube channel has now released a video showing a raid group engaged in a bizarre endeavor: they defeat the dragon lady Onyxia without players wearing any gear. There was no clothing, no weapons, and no jewelry or rings used.
Soon the “new” raid Ahn’Qiraj will start – doing it naked will probably not succeed.
How did the players manage this? Without empowering equipment and weapons, it was hardly possible for most classes to deal significant damage, so they had to resort to as many tricks as possible.
First, the players gathered as many buffs as possible to increase health and mana reserves. The amount of buffs in the video shows that numerous effects were stacked to get as much as possible out of the naked heroes.
The raid mainly consists of spell classes, which can use their abilities even without a weapon, although the damage is greatly reduced. Only hunters were included as a “weapon class”, but even they tricked. They simply controlled their pet using “Eye of the Beast” and thus dealt solid damage while also acting as a tank for large parts of the fight.
At the end, you can hear the raid leader say that they probably planned the whole thing far too meticulously. It didn’t need that much planning, and the number of buffs wasn’t necessary to accomplish this.
What do you think of this video? An impressive, cool achievement? Or a clear sign that WoW Classic was far too easy when you don’t even need any gear?
