Most notable achievements in World of Warcraft Classic have been secured by players by now. Whether it is the record for the fastest raid clear or defeating a raid with a group consisting of only one class. However, paladins have not achieved this success until now.
A group of 40 paladins managed to complete the raid “Molten Core” without the help of other classes.
This is what happened: A total of 40 paladins of all specializations (Protection, Retribution, and Holy) ventured into the Molten Core. This was the first major raid of World of Warcraft. In reality, you need a group with different classes to have as many buffs and diversity as possible. Paladins are known (somewhat mockingly) for dealing rather little damage, which prolongs the fights.
But the group did not actually take that long. It only took a little over 2 hours to defeat all bosses in the Molten Core. A “normal” group usually needs about 2 to 4 hours for this raid. The paladin players did well.
Where did this take place? The raid took place on the PTR of World of Warcraft, where the AQ event is currently being tested. Although the PTR does not have special bonuses, such as vendors for gear, it allowed paladins to recruit players from all possible realms.
After all, players from all realms can recruit their character on the PTR. Thus, it was easy to find 40 paladins with very strong gear who were capable of this achievement.
How good was the gear? Pretty good. Therefore, the group also had quite a wide arsenal of legendary weapons – there were 14 of them. Among them were 13 Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros and one Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windshear.
With this, the encounters became significantly easier, and the paladins were easily able to defeat all the bosses of the Molten Core. Even though the curses of some enemies remained for a very long time…
