Leveling a WoW character from 10 to 70 during lunch break – it’s possible. A player demonstrates how to finish in 30 minutes.
Most have probably heard that in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria you can currently level a character from level 10 to level 70 in just a few hours. However, that one can finish in under 30 minutes is an absurd record and probably the fastest leveling ever possible – albeit with some tricks.
How did he accomplish this? Although the actual playtime of the leveled character is only 29 minutes and 25 seconds, many days of planning went into the preparation. In his post on the WoW subreddit, Harldan explains that he made several attempts and compiled the best strategies to achieve maximum leveling speed.
Some of the key tricks are:
- The XP rewards for killing enemies in raids scale with group size – but in a negative way. The fewer characters in a group, the more XP there is. Therefore, it pays to have only one or two boosters to pull you through the raid.
- Particularly important is the 4th boss in Heart of Fear, Wind Lord Meljarak. This boss spawns with nine adds that you usually defeat or stun before killing the boss. The special feature: These adds grant extremely high experience points. Therefore, the group attacked the boss, defeated the adds, and then reset the fight to repeat this multiple times. This is by far the fastest method to level from 35 to 60.
- XP tokens from bosses are not looted. This means they end up in the mailbox and can be collected later. By this time, you have already accumulated a significant XP buff on the cape, so the tokens are worth considerably more when you then collect them from the post.

To further maximize XP gain, Harldan also uses another trick. His friends, who boost him, have purchased the guild banners, which, when used, increase the XP received from killed enemies by a hefty 15%.
In fact, you can’t even get these banners since the respective guild vendors are not found in Pandaria. However, through some tricks that come close to exploits, Remix characters can temporarily appear alive in Orgrimmar, interact with the vendors there, and also shop.
It’s likely that Blizzard will release a few hotfixes to primarily prevent various issues that could arise when Remix characters roam through the “normal world”.
These little bonuses are just a small addition to increase speed. Even without such items, the endeavor can still be completed in under an hour.
In any case, it’s impressive how fast one can level a character when really putting one’s mind to it. If this method is not fixed, then the record will likely be beaten again in a few weeks.
