On September 16, Phase 2 of WoW Burning Crusade Classic begins. We at MeinMMO reveal what to expect and how you can participate in the new content.
What does Phase 2 bring? Phase 2 will activate some new content in Burning Crusade Classic that players can explore. You can especially look forward to two iconic boss encounters, which are also considered the hardest thus far in the Classic era:
- The raid “The Serpent Shrine Cavern” will be unlocked. There you will face Lady Vashj.
- The raid “The Eye in the Tempest Keep” will be unlocked. There you will fight Kael’thas Sunstrider.
Additionally, with the new phase, the 2nd arena season begins, where you can earn new weapons and armor. Also in Phase 2, the PvP battlegrounds will be overhauled so you can fight against your faction as well. This was already tested in July 2021 and is supposed to remain until the end of Burning Crusade.
What else will change? In addition to the major changes, there are also some small adjustments that can be quite interesting:
- The old raids will be slightly easier in difficulty.
- Daily quests for the factions Ogri’la and Skyguard of the Sha’tari will be added. These are the first classic daily quests in Classic and they offer a good way to earn gold.
- In general, new methods for earning money will be introduced, making it easier for you to acquire your Epic Mount.
- Druids can earn their flight form.
When will Phase 2 be released? The release will take place during the night. On September 16 at exactly 0:01 AM our time, the new content will launch worldwide.
To get you in the mood for the new content, we have embedded the trailer for the raid “The Eye in the Tempest Keep”:
New raids require a whole series of quests
This is what the Serpent Shrine Cavern offers:
- 25 players
- 6 bosses
- Final boss Lady Vashj
- Tokens for gloves, pants, and the helm of the Tier 5 set will drop
This is what the Eye in the Tempest Keep offers:
- 25 players
- 4 bosses
- Final boss Kael’thas
- Tokens for shoulders and chest piece of the Tier 5 set will drop
What do you need to do to participate in the new raids? If you want to prepare for the launch of the new raids tonight, you can start by completing the prerequisite quests if you haven’t done so already. The following three quest lines must be completed for both raids:
- First, you need to earn access to the Black Morass. The corresponding quest line can be started at level 66 and begins with the Keeper of Time before the Caverns of Time in Tanaris.
- You also need to earn access to Karazhan. How exactly this works can be found in this guide: How to start and complete the Karazhan pre-quest in WoW Burning Crusade Classic.
- Finally, you will need the heroic dungeon keys. However, you need to be Revered with the factions Honor Hold/Thrallmar, Cenarion Expedition, Lower City, and the Sha’tar.
Afterwards, there are special quests for the respective raids:
- For the Serpent Shrine Cavern, you must complete the quest “The Scepter of Kar’desh.” You start the quest in the Slave Pens in heroic mode.
- For the Tempest Keep, you must complete the quest line “The Hand of Gul’Dan.” This consists of 25 individual quests.
A detailed guide to unlocking the raids has been published by Blizzard itself on their page (via Worldofwarcraft.com).
