Those who long for Shadowlands in World of Warcraft will soon be heard. At least the dungeons are returning.
Shadowlands marks the absolute low point in the history of World of Warcraft. It was the time when even die-hard fans began to think for the first time: Maybe it’s finally coming to an end for WoW. The story did not go over well, long waits for content updates, and the game was full of “mandatory tasks” that often stifled the fun of playing. Now World of Warcraft is bringing back a part of Shadowlands – as timewalking.
Currently, the Legion Remix
event is happening in WoW:
What has been found? The website wowhead has found another feature in the data of patch 11.2.7 – that is, the patch that also introduces housing in WoW – alongside the Patch, a new timewalking event is starting in an expansion that hasn’t existed before: Shadowlands. This means that you will be able to visit many of the old dungeons in the timewalking variant to level quickly and receive different rewards.
As usual, this also comes with some new vendors offering various cosmetic items for timeworn currencies. Among them are mounts, but also pets and toys – such as “Steward’s Bauble,” which allows you to transform into a steward. It’s a shame that the stewards were never introduced as an Allied Race.
Which dungeons are included? A large portion of the dungeons from Shadowlands are available. The following have been confirmed through data mining so far:
- The Necrotic Wake
- Theater of Pain
- Plaguefall
- The Other Side
- Halls of Atonement
- Theater of Pain
Hence, the Mist of Tirna Scithe and the Theater of Pain are not included. Both dungeons were only recently in the “M+” rotation, so it will probably be bearable to forgo them.
Also not included are the Tazavesh dungeons. While they originally come from Shadowlands, they are currently seen more as part of The War Within, as the dungeon is integrated into the current story.
When is it coming? According to the current schedule, the patch will be released in early December, specifically on December 3, 2025. That’s the day the early access for housing also begins. If you can’t make sense of this whole modern “house nonsense” and believe that “everything was better back then,” you are welcome to have fun in the Shadowlands dungeons and rethink your opinion.
In contrast to many other contents from Shadowlands, the dungeons are considered solid and were even quite popular. Many of them still maintain the relatively modern style that Blizzard adopted with the end of Legion. If you prefer to experience the Legion dungeons, you should take a look at Legion Remix, as it is rightly praised, even by us.
