The massive XP buff in World of Warcraft is back. You will soon receive a solid 50% more when leveling up – but it won’t last forever.
Blizzard unexpectedly announced the release date of World of Warcraft Dragonflight. It will actually be a bit earlier than expected when we head to the Dragon Isles. To fill the remaining wait time until the end of November sensibly, the developers are activating one of the strongest buffs ever. The big XP bonus “Wind of Wisdom” is back.
What kind of buff is this? The effect “Wind of Wisdom” increases a character’s earned experience points by 50% – and that from all sources. Whether from killing monsters, completing quests, or finishing a dungeon, a solid 50% bonus is available everywhere.
By the way, the effect can be combined with other XP bonuses. If you also have a buff from the Darkmoon Faire or the XP potions from “Battle for Azeroth”, you can increase the bonus to 60% or even 70%. Then activate the War Mode, and you add a few more percentage points on top.
When will the buff be active? According to Blizzard, the buff is set to start after the server restarts in the “week of October 4th”. Since server restarts in Europe always happen on Wednesdays, the buff will be active for us on Wednesday, October 5th. It applies to all characters between levels 10 and 59 – so you can benefit from this effect during most of the leveling phase.
Until when will the buff be active? That’s not quite clear yet, but in any case not until the start of Dragonflight. Because Blizzard says that the buff will disappear when the Dracthyr become playable – and that should happen during the pre-patch phase.
In rough estimates, the buff will probably be active for 4-6 weeks.
If you are considering trying out another class with the release of Dragonflight, you should make the most of the “Wind of Wisdom” as much as possible and not hesitate.
