The Great Leaders
Various peoples in Azeroth have renowned leaders who have appeared very little or briefly. Most of them are exceedingly powerful and would pose a significant threat should they decide to turn their power against the Horde and Alliance.
Queen Azshara
The former ruler of the night elves facilitated the first invasion of the Burning Legion and caused the continents to split. During the explosion of the Well of Eternity, the city of Zin-Azshari was pulled into the depths of the sea, and Azshara was transformed into a Naga by the Old God N’Zoth, along with her loyal servants.
Last seen: In Azsuna, Azshara briefly appears and initiates the transformation of Lysande into the final boss “Wrath of Azshara”. Since then, she has not reappeared.
Where she might appear: In an “Island” or “Old Gods” expansion. Since she and her Naga cooperate with the Old Gods and dominate the seas, she could emerge as an adversary in either case.
God-King Rastakhan
The leader of the Zandalari trolls, God-King Rastakhan, is considered wise, foresighted, and incredibly powerful. From Zandalar, he governs the Troll Empire and repeatedly tries to unite the tribes.
Last seen: Rastakhan has only appeared in narratives from Pandaria. He should still be in the capital Zuldazar on the island of Zandalar and holds the throne of the trolls.
Where he might appear: In the long-speculated “Island” expansion. The island chain of trolls is one of the last major known landmasses that has not yet been shown in Azeroth.
Murozond and the Infinite Dragonflight
Murozond is the perverted form of Nozdormu, the leader of the Bronze Dragonflight. He and his flight are attempting to alter the course of time to throw history into chaos – the exact purpose of which is still unknown.
Last seen: Murozond was killed during the Cataclysm at the End Time. However, bronze dragons are almost always present in multiple places at once, so his death need not be permanent.
Where he might appear: In an “Old Gods” expansion. The infinite dragonflight was created by the corruption of the Old Gods. It is quite possible that the “time” is soon to come when Nozdormu is corrupted by them.
Ozumat, the Patriarch of all Krakens
Ozumat is the largest existing kraken and is likely under the control of N’Zoth. He cooperated with the Naga to attack Neptulon and was present as a boss in an instance but was repelled there.
Last seen: Ozumat was last seen during the shaman campaign in Legion. He is enslaved by Neptulon and currently imprisoned.
Where he might appear: In both a “Island” and an “Old Gods” expansion.
Speculation: At the Broken Shore, there is a quest line with particularly many kraken eggs, all of which are supposed to have been created recently. Since it is suspected that the Black City Ny’alotha, where N’Zoth is said to rest, lies under the Tomb of Sargeras, it is quite possible that the Kraken will cause chaos together with his master as long as we are in Argus.
On the next page, we discuss Old Gods. They always make a good appearance.
