With Patch 8.0, players in World of Warcraft have fewer features in the guild. Players are not happy about this at all.
With the major Patch 8.0, Blizzard changed numerous details in World of Warcraft. This includes the new interface for “Guilds and Communities”. All groupings are now united and clearly visible. However, not all players see it this way, especially since some features have disappeared. The rights of guild members can no longer be set individually.
Guild rights have been consolidated. Up until Patch 8.0, guild leaders could determine the rights for each rank in the guild down to the smallest detail and grant special rights to specific ranks. Many of these rights have now been consolidated under the “Officer” designation. They can no longer be granted individually but come automatically with being assigned the “Officer” rank.
These rights have been combined. When a player is granted the “Officer” status in the guild, they are given the following rights:
- Access to the Officer channel
- The right to remove players from the voice chat
- The right to delete messages from other players in the guild chat
- The right to delete guild events of other players
- Viewing and editing officer notes
- Editing public notes
- Editing the guild info
- Selecting a message of the day
Players voice criticism. Many players dislike the new system. They find it particularly frustrating that “regular” guild members can no longer change “character notes”. Players often used to enter whose alt a specific character was or just made small jokes in the guild here. Now only officers can do this – along with many other rights.
Access the old guild interface. If you can’t make head or tail of the new guild interface, you can still access the old window. However, it has been somewhat better hidden. It can be opened via the chat command “/guildroster” or “/groster”. Those who preferred the old overview will find it here. The old configuration options for rights in the guild are also missing here.
