A new hotfix for patch 8.0 in World of Warcraft turns powerful raid bosses into minced meat. Especially in Antorus, they are being nerfed.
In World of Warcraft, not everything is running smoothly yet. Many enemies deal too much damage after patch 8.0, making some bosses in Azeroth nearly unbeatable. To ensure that the great adversaries return to their intended strength, a hotfix has arrived that should ensure fair fights, especially in the raid “Antorus, the Burning Throne”. The abilities of the bosses have been weakened by up to 75%!
The bosses in Antorus have been nerfed
Here are the changes to the various bosses from Antorus, the Burning Throne – the last raid of WoW: Legion.
Hounds of Sargeras
- Incinerate deals 75% less damage
Eonar
- Strike deals 60% less damage.
- The health points of almost all demonic attackers have been reduced.
The Antoran Command
- The damage from Psychic Assault now increases more slowly.

Portal Keeper Hasabel
- Imps have 30% less health points.
Imonar
- Impulse Grenade deals 30% less damage.
- Stasis Trap deals 30% less damage.
The Circle of Shivarra
- Shadow Blades deal 50% less damage.
Aggramar
- Wave of Flames deals 20% less damage.
Nerfs were necessary. Even though the numbers of the nerfs may sound like one could now stroll through Antorus in a leisurely manner and naked, this is misleading. Due to the many changes from patch 8.0, such as the stat squish and the removal of artifact weapons, the bosses have been too hard so far. Some fights were only manageable with luck, others nearly impossible. Now, at least all encounters from Antorus should be “doable” again.
Many bugs fixed. Aside from that, the hotfix has fixed many more minor bugs, such as unsolvable quests or further adjustments to damage numbers in old dungeons. Generally, every instance should now be completable again – at least that is the idea. But there will surely be another patch in the coming days.
We will apply the hotfix tonight (07/24/2018), but individual aspects might already be active.
What do you think of the nerfs and changes to the bosses of Antorus? Was it necessary or did your guild continue to have no problems?
