Don’t you have the latest expansion yet? Blizzard is giving away WoW Shadowlands. We’ll tell you who is eligible.
Even though Shadowlands is widely regarded as the worst expansion of World of Warcraft , there are still some aspects that receive praise. The current Season 4 is considered by many players to be a significant improvement, as it is easier to equip Twinks and many hurdles have been removed. At least for the story of the covenants, playing through once is definitely worthwhile.
As the next expansion Dragonflight is approaching, WoW is now giving away Shadowlands – but only to those who are eligible for it. And there’s a boost to level 50 included as well.
Who does this apply to? The offer is subject to some restrictions that are not immediately easy to see through. The offer is valid for you if these two points are fulfilled:
- You have purchased any license of a WoW expansion (Burning Crusade, WotLK, Cataclysm, etc.) on your Battle.net account in the past.
- No Shadowlands has been added to any of your WoW accounts on your Battle.net account.
This gift is clearly aimed at returnees who have played World of Warcraft during any previous expansion, but are not currently playing. With the boost to level 50, you can jump straight into Shadowlands.
I don’t understand, who doesn’t this apply to? Since Blizzard’s conditions are written somewhat complicatedly, here again are the restrictions that can lead to you not receiving Shadowlands:
- If you only have a trial account.
- If you only own the “Standard Version” of World of Warcraft, meaning you only upgraded from a test account with the conclusion of a subscription.
- If you have multiple WoW accounts on your Battle.net account and any one of them already has Shadowlands.
How can I get the expansion? If you meet the above-mentioned requirements, then Shadowlands should appear in the next few days as a gift in your Battle.net software. You just need to click on it and redeem it there. However, it may take up to 7 days for the gift to appear on all affected accounts – so by the latest on 29.08.2022.
Everyone will then have time to redeem Shadowlands until September 5.
What if I was not selected? If you’re not in a hurry, don’t worry. Typically, just before the release of the new expansion, the old one is integrated into the base package. Just before the launch of Dragonflight, Shadowlands should be free anyway.
What do you think about this returning player offer? A good thing or too specific?
