In World of Warcraft (WoW) , a new feature has launched today that players have been eagerly waiting for: The trading post was supposed to give players something to do, especially pleasing cosmetic fans. Embarrassingly for Blizzard: The feature had to be disabled after just a few hours. It was already broken in the morning and got worse throughout the day.
What is this feature?
- The trading post is the new feature of Patch 10.0.5 in WoW: Dragonflight. It opened today on February 1st in the morning.
- At the trading post, you can complete tasks and receive “currency” for them – with which you can unlock a variety of cosmetic rewards such as toys, pets, mounts, transmog items.
- The offerings are supposed to change monthly.
Problems surfaced early in the morning
What went wrong? Early in the morning, around 9:30, a Blizzard community manager reported in the English forum and said: There are issues with item refunds at the trading post.
Therefore, they have disabled this feature, the refund of items. The support team will also not be able to refund items that are sold.
It was said that they want to resolve the issue and will get back to everyone when all items are refundable – including those items that were purchased during the period when they were temporarily non-refundable.
In the afternoon, the trading post is completely closed
What went really wrong? Unfortunately, it didn’t stop there. At 15:51, there was a blue post in the German forum for WoW: The trading post is temporarily shut down while “various issues” are being investigated.
Some have already spent currency but received no items. This is also being investigated.
For critics of Blizzard, this can again serve as a negative example that not much of the “old Blizzard” remains.
In recent years, after many employees have left or were laid off, it seems that something is seriously wrong at the once glorious development studio.
