The Black Temple returns in the Timewalking variant. This will surely not be a ” faceroll ” raid from World of Warcraft.
Yesterday, on June 7, 2017, Blizzard held a small livestream about World of Warcraft again. This time the community manager Josh “Lore” Allen grabbed senior game designer Paul Kubit so that he could answer questions. The interview mainly focused on upcoming content from Patch 7.2.5, such as the Timewalking in the Black Temple.
When it comes to Timewalking dungeons, players are usually accustomed to very simple mechanics. Thanks to new talents and abilities, even with solid scaling, the difficulty level of the Timewalking dungeons is rather low. However, it will be a little different with the first Timewalking raid.
The “Black Temple” returns – always with the Timewalking event from Burning Crusade. However, there is no “LFR button” here where you can just sign up. Groups must be created manually.
Also, the difficulty level is significantly above the usual LFR level. The goal is said to be “lower level of normal raids” – so probably like the first 5 bosses of the Emerald Nightmare when this raid was new. The reason for this is that the boss fights in the Black Temple are relatively complex and the developers did not want to remove or drastically weaken old mechanics. Otherwise, the “feeling” of the Black Temple would simply be lost.
This means that, for example, bosses like Teron Gorefiend can cause a single player to wipe the raid.
“There will be raid groups that will not be able to clear the raid completely – and that is okay,” Blizzard states.
In general, the Black Temple follows the usual rules of Timewalking. This means that the item level of players will be scaled down, and the rewards will still be useful for the maximum level.
Patch 7.2.5 is scheduled to be released on June 13. However, this is not set in stone and there could be delays.
