On the PTR of World of Warcraft , players can now earn the bee mounts. However, it will take a very long time before you can ride the bee.
Since the launch of Battle for Azeroth, players have hoped to eventually get a bee as a mount in World of Warcraft. With Patch 8.2.5 , this dream will finally come true – at least for Alliance players. They can earn a bee and zoom around Azeroth.
But whoever wants the bee will need endurance, as currently you have to collect 6,000 items to receive a bee.
In WoW, you must be as diligent as the bee
Where can you find the bee? The bee can be earned in the Stormsong Valley. There, as an Alliance player, you have dealt with bees in the past and helped some workers escape their predicament. With Patch 8.2.5, you will meet a new NPC, Barry.
Barry takes care of the bees and has only a standard dialogue for most players. To talk to him, you need the battle pet “Hummelbummel,” which is already available for the achievement “Fleet Bee.” If you have Hummelbummel with you, Barry will speak with you.
Barry reveals that there is a “new bee colony in town” and wants to get on good terms with these bees. To appease the broodmother, we bring her some jelly – but the appeasement fails, and Barry has to intervene with his “bee skills.” After that, the broodmother is neutral towards us and acts as a vendor.
Have you seen what has happened to Furion in Patch 8.2.5?
What needs to be done for the bee? To increase your reputation with the bee mother, there is only one way: you need to collect jelly, which can be found all over Stormsong Valley. Many places have honeycombs that can contain the jelly. You can then redeem this jelly at the broodmother and receive 7 reputation points with the new faction each time. This translates to 42,000 reputation points (from neutral to revered), which means you need to collect 6,000 jelly!
And that is only if you don’t want to buy the other items from the bee mother, which you – of course – also buy with jelly. These include a teleport to the broodmother or special glasses that show the jelly locations on the minimap for an hour.
No time gating, just a lot of work: The good news seems to be that the bee faction does not contain time gating. You will be able to farm the bee solely through diligence and are not bound to daily quests – at least that is the current state.
After all, the bee seems to ultimately be a quest reward and does not need to be bought for gold. But what would a bee queen want to do with gold?
Please keep in mind that the information provided so far is from the PTR. A lot can change before the release of WoW Patch 8.2.5.
Will you go for the bee mount? Or is it too much work for an old mount?
