There have never been this many rewards for collectors in World of Warcraft. Many are excited – and are looking forward to finally being done.
Those who are currently playing World of Warcraft likely spend most of their time in outdated content – at least if they enjoy collecting mounts and transmog items. Because the acquisition of these rewards is currently drastically enhanced. Some even sing praises of the bonus and consider it the best event that World of Warcraft has ever had.

What exactly does the event do? Currently, the buff “Collector’s Bounty” is active in World of Warcraft. This increases the drop chance of mounts in old content (before Dragonflight) by 5%. Additionally, the chance for transmog is also increased, as all bosses drop double the amount of loot.
Particularly enthusiastic is the player Kronicedge, who praises the event so much that it puts the 18 previous years in WoW into the shade for him. In the WoW subreddit he writes:
“I have been playing WoW since 2007. I have tried to collect many different mounts: Ashes of Al’ar, Onyxia, and so on. Because of this, I have not been able to focus completely on new content, as I am totally consumed by transmog and mount collecting with every single class since I was able to solo raids and transmog became a thing in 2011.
I say all this just because I made more progress in the last week than in the entire roughly 18 years I’ve been doing raids weekly. I am so incredibly happy and it feels like what I usually grind weekly or daily is finally gaining momentum. This is the best event in all the time I’ve been playing WoW and I just had to tell someone. I only need a few more pieces, then I will never have to visit a Classic or Burning Crusade raid again!”
Other players are also getting involved. They elevate the event a bit more with humorous comments like:

However, some are also overwhelmed by this abundance of rewards, as there is so much to do that WoW feels like work to some people.

In addition to the increased drop chance for mounts, the event has another bonus. Because all dungeons and raids before Dragonflight currently contain double the amount of loot – each boss drops much more items than usual. This allows for a significant expansion of the transmog collection of one’s own account, as you can collect transmog with all classes for a while now. Even if you collect some plate items as a mage, these are still unlocked for your own account.
This way, with addons like “All the Things” you can track very precisely whether you still need items from dungeons and raids – or literally already own every single item.
The event will last a little more than two weeks, until July 29. If you still need mounts or transmog, you should take the time to do so – as it is still uncertain when this event will return. Most likely not before the end of the next expansion Midnight – and then housing is already coming.
