Rank 8: Rogue
122 votes (7.98%) were cast for Rogues, placing them in 8th place.

What makes Rogues special? Rogues are a pure DPS class that, apart from damage in various forms, has no other specializations. They are the only melee class with this limitation.
With their specializations, Rogues can choose whether to fight a specific target or groups. They also have many useful abilities such as Cloak of Shadows or Veil of Mist, which allow them to take on special tasks in many groups. Their core abilities are stealth and combo points, which are used for powerful “finishers.”
The specializations of the Rogue
- Assassination: Assassination Rogues work with poisons and bleeds as DoTs, inflicting permanent damage on enemies and applying other effects. They have small burst windows throughout the fight, during which they deal high damage and work towards them between phases to set them up.
- Subtlety: Subtlety Rogues focus damage on one target, benefiting from the presence of multiple enemies nearby. They are the “ninjas” of WoW and have more abilities based on their stealth ability.
- Outlaw: Unlike Assassins and Subtlety Rogues, Outlaw Rogues fight with swords or maces instead of with daggers. Outlaw Rogues (formerly “Combat”) have strong AoE abilities, making them particularly strong during cleaves. They also rely heavily on their luck due to the ability “Fate Dice,” which grants them various buffs.
