With Patch 8.3, there are two new allied races in World of Warcraft. We tell you the essentials about Vulpera (Horde) and Mechagnomes (Alliance): which classes can they become and what racial abilities do they have. However, there is one race that has been forgotten – fans are sad about that.
Patch 8.3 of WoW was presented yesterday with numerous features released and roughly introduced. For fans of twinks and alternative characters or simply a new design for the characters, the patch should contain some nice news. Because there are two new allied races, one for the Horde and one for the Alliance.
The Vulpera and the Mechagnomes join the factions.
These are the Mechagnomes for the Alliance
What are the Mechagnomes? The Mechagnomes inhabit Mechagon and are basically just a variation of regular gnomes. Over the years, they have replaced individual body parts with mechanical devices, such as replacing arms and legs or enhancing eyes with cybernetics. In Mechagon, they fight against the namesake king, who wanted to fully mechanize them, leaving the gnomes as mere machines.
Mechagnome: Classes and Racial Abilities in WoW
Which classes can Mechagnomes play? Mechagnomes are able to play the following classes:
- Hunter
- Mage
- Monk
- Priest
- Rogue
- Warlock
- Warrior
These are the racial abilities of the Mechagnomes: Like all races, Mechagnomes also have a set of special racial abilities. Currently, they are:
- Combat Analysis: You collect data during combat. Every 5 seconds, your primary stat is increased by X, stackable up to 8 times. Outside of combat, this bonus decays slowly.
- Hyper Organic Light Originator: Summons organic light duplicates to distract your enemies.
- Mastercraft: You act as a personal smithing anvil, campfire, and smelting oven. Additionally, your body parts contain all crafting tools.
- Re-Arm: If you drop below 20% health, you are instantly healed for 20% of your maximum health. Can only be triggered once every 90 seconds.
- Skeleton Pinkie: Allows you to open locked boxes and doors up to a skill of X.

These are the Vulpera for the Horde
What are the Vulpera? The Vulpera are fox-like humanoids primarily found in Vol’dun. As a player of the Horde, you accompany several Vulpera in their caravan and defend their home against the Sethrak.
Apparently, the Vulpera are now joining the Horde at the end of the war to fight for their supporters in future conflicts.
Which classes can Vulpera play? As of now, the following classes are available for Vulpera:
- Hunter
- Mage
- Monk
- Priest
- Rogue
- Shaman
- Warlock
- Warrior
These are the racial abilities of the Vulpera: Vulpera also come with a set of their own racial abilities.
- Fire Resistance: Fire damage taken is reduced by 1%.
- Make Camp: Set up a campfire at this location. Can only be cast outdoors.
- Return to Camp: Brings you back to your camp. 1 hour cooldown.
- Nose for Trouble: The first time you take damage from an enemy, that damage is reduced by 5% of your total health.
- Rummage your Bag: [Not yet implemented]
- Vulpera Survival Kit: You have a chance to loot an additional loot bag from humanoids.

How to unlock the allied races? Unlocking the two races is quite simple. You just need to be revered with the Voldunai (Vulpera) or revered with Mechagon (Mechagnomes) on a character. Then you can accept the quest to recruit the respective race.
Which race is missing?
Players demand Sethrak: Since the launch of Battle for Azeroth, players have wished for Sethrak to be playable characters. They would also have been the “logical” counterpart to the Vulpera, as they belong to two different factions in Vol’dun. The fact that Sethrak did not make it into the ranks of playable races causes discontent.
Are you excited for the Vulpera and the Mechagnomes? Or would you have preferred Sethrak?
