Why should I use the tool? In Burning Crusade, your spells still have different ranks, unlike in Retail-WoW. The general rule is: the higher the rank, the higher the base healing, but it is also more expensive. A higher rank costs more mana.
With better gear, however, the healing you can deal by default increases, and you are better off with lower ranks. This way, you save mana and can heal your tank or DPS without running dry within a few seconds (“OOM”).
Especially for heroic dungeons and later for raids, it is important that you engage with your spells and ranks. Otherwise, you will run out of mana before the fights are over.

How do I use the tool? The operation is quite easy. You enter some basic information into the tool and get a list of your spells with ranks at the bottom. Here’s what you need to enter for the calculation:
- Healing bonus (‘Healing Power’)
- Critical strike rating (‘Critical effect chance’)
- Spell haste rating (‘Spell Haste Rating’)
- selected talents with rank
- active effects (such as ‘Blessing of Light’ for the Paladin)
