In World of Warcraft, there will soon be more character slots! We will tell you what Blizzard has planned for Battle for Azeroth.
The fans of World of Warcraft could breathe a sigh of relief when Blizzard raised the number of maximum characters per server with the introduction of Allied Races. Instead of the old limit of 12 characters, a maximum of 16 characters was now possible – which meant 4 additional slots, one new slot for each Allied Race.
But what does the future hold? Will there be even more character slots when new Allied Races are added in Battle for Azeroth?
One new character slot per race
According to Game Director Ion Hazzikostas, the plan for Battle for Azeroth is clear, as he spoke specifically about this issue in yesterday’s Q&A about Battle for Azeroth.
Whenever there are new Allied Races, the number of available character slots per server is also intended to increase proportionally.
The current limit of 16 would therefore increase to 18 with the release of Battle for Azeroth – as the Zandalari Trolls and Dark Iron Dwarves will also be added.
However, no word was said about whether the maximum number of characters per account will also increase. Because that maximum has been set at 50 characters for ages.
Many veterans and long-time players, who have migrated from server to server with their friends, still have old characters on many realms that they find it hard to part with. Whether they will eventually be forced to delete these characters remains to be seen.
