A popular feature from Legion did not make it into WoW: Battle for Azeroth – much to the fans’ surprise. Where are the Paragon rewards?
The first players reach a revered reputation with the new factions in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. But after the initial joy, confusion arises – as the reputation bar remains at revered. The Paragon system from Legion apparently cannot be found in Kul Tiras and Zandalar.
What are Paragon rewards? When one had brought a faction to “revered” in Legion, players could continue to gather reputation. They had to fill a bar again and could receive an additional reward chest after 10,000 reputation points.
This “Paragon reward” could be obtained repeatedly; players could farm an additional 10,000 reputation endlessly. The chests usually contained resources and gold, but sometimes also gear or even special mounts and toys.
Why are the rewards missing? So far, Blizzard has not commented on why the Paragon system is missing in Battle for Azeroth. In a previous livestream, they mentioned that the system was actually a success, but they at least do not want to tie rare mounts to it anymore.
Whether the Paragon system has now been completely discarded or will return with a later patch (8.1 or 8.2) is not known.
The community is disappointed: Many players have already expressed their displeasure that the Paragon system is missing. The system was a major motivator in Legion to continue doing world quests without a fixed obligation. Without this system, world quests lose their attractiveness drastically.
Cortyn says: Honestly, I was also quite surprised that the Paragon system is not present – until today I firmly believed it was part of Battle for Azeroth. At least a few pets or toys would have been a nice motivation to continue farming reputation. Since that is missing, world quests will likely only be limited to completing the daily emissary quests. Too bad, I expected more.
Do you miss the Paragon rewards? Or did you always find it annoying and are you glad that there is currently a clear “endpoint” in reputation farming?
