PvP has always been a part of World of Warcraft. In Battle for Azeroth, the War Mode replaces open PvP. With a small change, Blizzard ensures more fairness: They want to put a stop to multiboxers.
No /follow in War Mode possible: Those in WoW: Battle for Azeroth who are in War Mode can no longer automatically follow another character using the /follow command. This aims to prevent multiboxing.

What is Multiboxing? Multiboxing refers to a player controlling multiple accounts simultaneously. The player runs World of Warcraft on multiple monitors with several accounts at the same time (in “multiple boxes”).
To make this work correctly, they only control one character themselves, while the others /follow the leader. The spells are bound to the same key, so that all characters can cast their attacks simultaneously. This way, 10 or more mages can easily attack a target at the same time.

The War Mode is the new Open PvP: In Battle for Azeroth, PvP servers are being eliminated. Instead, players who want to fight can activate War Mode. In this, they are placed into a phase with other players in War Mode, essentially a PvP phase. While this is riskier, it also brings 10% increased rewards from quests.
Multiboxing is very interesting for Open PvP, and it would have been for War Mode as well. Anyone running around the world with 10 or more characters is difficult to stop. With the deactivation of the /follow function in War Mode, Blizzard puts a stop to that.
The community is divided: Multiboxing is a controversial topic in the community. Some players see it as a challenge to take down a multiboxer. Others find the behavior annoying and believe it takes away from others’ enjoyment. Still, others say it is part of the game – those who pay should also be allowed to play.
Blizzard has tolerated multiboxing so far. However, with the deactivation of the /follow function in War Mode, multiboxers in Battle for Azeroth must come up with other methods or stop multiboxing altogether.
