The story of the Horde in World of Warcraft continues. We will reveal what happens to Baine in the next major patch.
The fate of Baine Bloodhoof interests many players of World of Warcraft. The last update was that Baine was captured by Sylvanas after he handed over Derek Proudmoore to the Alliance. Baine was taken away and shackled. In patch 8.2, his story continues. We will reveal how the war campaign develops.
Spoiler Alert: Anyone who does not want to know how the story involving Baine and the Horde will continue should not read further. You have been warned.
This is how the questline begins for the Horde: Lor’themar Theron, the leader of the Blood Elves, receives a vision from a Tauren Shaman. He learns that Baine will not see the next day and is to be executed. Lor’themar then states that he wants to take action and “activate contacts”.
This is how the questline begins for the Alliance: King Anduin visits Jaina and asks her to rescue Baine from the clutches of the Banshee Queen Sylvanas. Since Baine previously handed Derek over to Jaina, she agrees to help with this task. That Anduin wants to initiate a rescue mission makes sense because Baine and Anduin were good friends for a long time and even kept in touch through letters until Sylvanas found out.
Infiltration of Orgrimmar: While Alliance players infiltrate alongside Jaina and Matthias Shaw (the Spy Master of Stormwind), Horde players sneak through the city with Saurfang and an old acquaintance – Thrall (with new model). The goal is the halls beneath Orgrimmar, which were previously used by Garrosh.
The Alliance also destroys some experimental Azerite weapons, while in the Horde version it is explained that these halls were reopened by Vol’jin to provide protection against the demon attacks that occurred during “Legion” all over the world.
A decision for Horde players: Excitingly, Horde players must once again make a decision during this questline. They can report to Nathanos that Thrall and Saurfang are trying to rescue Baine.
The game explicitly points out that “one will remember” if the rescue attempt is not announced to Nathanos beforehand, thereby showing loyalty to Sylvanas. What long-term effects this will have is still unknown.

A trap with Baine as bait: Just before the place where Baine is held, the two parties meet. There is a short dialogue before everyone goes to Baine together. However, Baine is not pleased, but worried. He tells the group that this is all a trap and the Banshee Queen already knows that they wanted to rescue him.
Ambush by the Sunstriders: At that moment, many Blood Elves appear and reveal themselves as Sunstriders seeking revenge. Jaina had previously driven all Blood Elves out of Dalaran and executed many of them after some Sunstriders betrayed her and the Alliance. Magister Hathorel is one of these Blood Elves who managed to escape and now seeks revenge.

After the battle, the escape is successful and both sides return to their homelands. There, the parties declare that they will temporarily cooperate with the other side to strike back against Azshara. Jaina still wants “justice” for Teldrassil. Furthermore, it is hoped that with a bit more time, “the resistance in the Horde against Sylvanas will gain strength”. Apparently, they want to wait it out for now and hope that the protest within the Horde will grow stronger.
Small differences depending on the faction: What is also interesting about the questline is that the dialogues play out slightly differently depending on the faction. From the perspective of Alliance players, the attacking Blood Elves are significantly more aggressive and attack with loud shouts of “Kill them all! For the Sunstriders!”

From the Horde’s perspective, however, the characters of the Alliance exhibit significantly more aggression. There, it is Jaina who shouts “Kill them!” while maintaining a barrier.
Such storytelling with different nuances depending on the faction has already occurred in the Battle of Dazar’alor:
How it continues with Lor’themar, Thrall, and Baine will probably only be revealed in the next chapter of the war campaign.
