The exceptional player Rextroy is going wild in WoW again. This time he unleashes dozens of guards on his clearly confused enemies, who almost immediately die.
Meanwhile, it has almost become a ritual to report on the WoW player Rextroy. He manages to repeatedly find strange game mechanics that he can then use for cool or funny videos. This time is no different as he uses dozens of guards to simply overwhelm Hordes. The “blame” lies with a mechanic that is quite important for the game.
What can be seen in the video? In the clip, we see Rextroy on his Alliance Death Knight, being chased by dozens of friendly guards. As soon as he approaches a Horde player or is attacked, the guards pounce on the Horder and usually chop them up in a fraction of a second.
You can watch the whole madness here:
As you can see, the Horde has no chance here, and it takes several minutes to overwhelm Rextroy and his army of guards with a multitude of players.
– He defeats the raid boss Il’gynoth single-handedly
– Rextroy deals 115 million damage with a single attack
– He even one-hits mythically geared players in PvP
This is how the “Kul Tiras” army works
How does it work? Rextroy explains at the end how he was able to pull so many guards behind him. He just had to pull an “Ancient Protector” from Tiragarde Sound to Boralus.
The Ancient Protectors, like many other NPCs, have a special mechanic. They cannot be harmed by other NPCs when they are below a certain percentage of HP. So when the Ancient Protector is at 80% of his health, he only takes damage from other players. This mechanic exists to make the world feel alive and to give the impression that NPCs are fighting each other.
Rextroy exploits this to kite the Ancient Protector through Boralus. The NPC draws the aggro from all the guards, but because of his protective mechanic, he cannot be killed.

The result is that Rextroy is chased by the Ancient Protector, who is in turn being chased by dozens of elite guards. The interesting thing is: the guards still intervene in the fight against Horde players and attack them if they get too close. This way, Rextroy was able to lead the guards with him and deliberately send them after Horde players, who simply explode in a storm of Kul Tirans.
What do you think of this trick? A cool thing that Rextroy used? Or a serious exploit that should be punished?
