A special event in World of Warcraft has started. You have two weeks to earn some really cool skins.
Currently, there is a big content drought in World of Warcraft while waiting for Patch 9.2. However, for two weeks, there is plenty to do. The Timewalking: Legion is back for the first time since Patch 9.1.5, which means some really fresh (or warmed-up) content. There are “Mythic+” dungeons from Legion – and the infamous Mage Tower is continuously active during the event.
What’s in the Mage Tower? The Mage Tower was a solo endgame content of the Legion expansion. Back then, players could earn some special skins for their artifact weapons here. It was previously said that the skins would be permanently lost once Legion ended – and that’s how it turned out.
During the Timewalking, the Mage Tower is again active and offers some new rewards. Though these aren’t exactly the old skins, they are really stylish class sets. They are color variations of the Mythic “Tomb of Sargeras” tier set.
How difficult is the Mage Tower? Blizzard has tried to make the tower a solid challenge even in Shadowlands. Therefore, there are several restrictions. Certain abilities cannot be used, and character attributes are set to a fixed value. It is not possible to “outgear” the challenges – you actually have to overcome the fights.
How much time do you have? In total, you have 2 weeks to complete the challenges of the Mage Tower. The Timewalking: Legion lasts for 2 weeks on the first run. After that, the tower closes again and will return in a few months. If you want the skins, you should put in the effort – you have until December 21.
What else is there? In addition to the coveted weapon skins, the developers have added another treat in the Mage Tower. If you complete all the challenges of the Mage Tower (a total of 7), you can earn a new mount. It is a flying spellbook that you can use to soar into battle to show the world that the Mage Tower was no real challenge for you.

And if that’s still not enough, you can complete the tower challenges with all classes in all specializations. This rewards you with the achievement “Tower Overwhelming.” The achievement does not grant any reward – but it’s perfect for showing off a bit.
