In WoW: Shadowlands you should no longer complete your covenant quests starting today. There is an important reason for this, Patch 9.0.5.
In World of Warcraft Shadowlands, many players have a daily routine. Some anima is collected, world quests are completed here and there, a dungeon is visited, or the covenant quests are finished. However, you should not complete these covenants now – at least until Wednesday.
Which covenant quests are we talking about exactly? You receive covenant quests from your covenant and they are always active for three days. You can collect a maximum of three of these missions and then complete them “in one go”. However, you should not complete the latest covenant quest that you receive today. Wait to complete today’s and tomorrow’s missions until Wednesday (10.03.).
Why should you wait? On March 10th, the small Patch 9.0.5 will be released. While it brings few new features like the cool Urtum mount, it also includes the new system for valor points. Players can earn these in dungeons of the “Mythic+” difficulty to upgrade gear from those dungeons.
A small amount of valor is also available daily from the covenant quests. To get the most out of the system, you should start on Wednesday with three available covenant quests. This is only possible if you save the quests from Monday (today) and Tuesday (tomorrow) until the patch.
Is it bad if you do the quests anyway? No. The valor points system has a cap, and aside from that, they can be earned “infinitely” in dungeons. Those who miss some points from the covenant quests just need to visit some more dungeons to make up the deficit. This does not create a long-term disadvantage.
Will you save your covenant quests until Wednesday? Or do you not care about the new valor points system and will not take it into consideration?
The upgrading of items has strict requirements in Patch 9.0.5.
