Because Blizzard doesn’t create an anime for World of Warcraft, the fans take over. How awesome it could look is shown here.
World of Warcraft as an anime adaptation. Just reading these words may send an anticipatory shiver down the spine of many a WoW fan. However, there are currently no signs that Blizzard will fulfill this wish. Therefore, fans continually tackle this task and create anime openings based on well-known templates, but featuring characters from Warcraft. You can admire just such a creation here. The Reddit user starduke999 put in a lot of work to create these nearly perfect 90 seconds:
This is what you can see: The “anime opening” for World of Warcraft shows the well-known main characters who played a significant role in Battle for Azeroth. Characters like Anduin, Thrall, Jaina, Sylvanas, and also Tyrande are staged in typically overdramatic anime poses. Scene by scene, it is modeled after a well-known anime and implemented with meticulous accuracy.
For comparison: This is the original that served as inspiration:
It belongs to the anime “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure,” which has not only been used for an extremely large number of memes in recent years but has also served as a template for a cool Overwatch mode.
By the way: Some other Blizzard franchises are actually getting adaptations as series, one of which could very well be in anime style. Overwatch and Diablo are both in talks for a series adaptation and are allegedly already in the planning phase.
What would you think of an anime in the Warcraft world? Would that be a suitable format for the story? Or should Warcraft, after the poorly received movie, rather avoid TV and cinema?
