The capitals of World of Warcraft currently have a phasing problem. Everything is included between “Cemetery” and “Mass Rally”.
The usual “Patch Day” rule – Small bugs, big outcry
Somehow, it is very reassuring that certain things in World of Warcraft never change. Once again, the good old rule “Never play on patch day” has proven true, as some bugs have slipped into the game. Depending on the server, players in the capitals of the Horde and Alliance (Orgrimmar and Stormwind) experience different situations. While some players report that their city is now deserted, on other servers there are absurd scenes where you can’t even recognize your own character due to the plethora of heroes.

Especially roleplayers are taking to the barricades, because hardly anything is deadlier for RP on a server than not being able to see other players. Just the “Spontaneous RP”, which only happens when you randomly run into other characters, has been virtually snuffed in the bud when only about 1/10 of the population plays in the same instance of Stormwind.
It is obviously a bug for at least the vast majority of players, as Blizzard has already announced on Twitter that they want to fix this issue. Several servers are now meeting in the capitals, which greatly disrupts roleplayers. For now, players who want to play together in the capitals should simply join a common raid group.
Some players are also pleased with the change, as the completely overcrowded cities evoke euphoric feelings. “This is how it should be,” says some who has nostalgic tears in their eyes due to the packed cities.
